Bible Text: Luke 3:22-38 (ESV)
Reflection & Application
Reflect on the fact that Jesus got baptized along with all the people. What does this reveal about him?
Reflect on the words of the voice from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
How applicable are these words to me personally? See the passages below:
John 1:12 (ESV)
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
1 John 3:1 (ESV)
1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are…
Galatians 3:26 (ESV)
26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
Galatians 4:4–7 (ESV)
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
What are the implications for me that I am a “beloved son/daughter” with whom God is “well pleased”?
