Bible Text: Luke 6:12-16 (ESV)
Luke 6:12-13
Note what Jesus did before the choosing of the twelve apostles. What can I learn from Jesus’ example?
As opposition to Jesus mounts and begins to formalize (v. 11), Jesus officially forms his inner circle. What can I learn from this?
The number twelve represents the number of tribes of Israel. What is the significance of Jesus selecting twelve disciples?
Reflect on the fact that among the Twelve are Levi, a collaborator with the Romans, and Simon the “Zealot,” which was a group of people dedicated to violent overthrow of Roman occupation.
