Luke 8:32-37
The townspeople do not welcome Jesus nor the healing. What is behind the townspeople’s decision to ask Jesus to depart? What does this reveal about the values and the spiritual condition of the townspeople?
What are some ways people today refuse to engage with the work of Jesus in transforming people’s lives?
The demon-possessed man is not the only problematic character in this story, just the most visible one. Reflect on the fact that Jesus, who had the power to heal the man of a legion of demons, simply leaves as requested by the townspeople.
Reflect on the words of Jesus in v. 39, and the man’s response.
